One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?”
The Lord replied,
“The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints,
is when I carried you.”

Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with hearts full of gratitude for the beautiful community You have blessed us with here in the Colorado Springs area. We thank You for the incredible work being done in Your name, from our vibrant megachurches to our small, faithful congregations, and individuals. We are a body with many parts, but one spirit, united in our mission to show Your love to the world.
Lord, our hearts are heavy for those mentioned here who are in need of your safe harbor, warmth, hope, and health. Please bring your healing and mercy for the glory of Your Name.
We invite all our brothers and sisters in faith to join us in this concentrated prayer effort. Let us lay aside any differences and unite our voices before Your throne of grace. Let our collective prayer be a powerful force that brings change, comfort, and restoration to our community.
Father, we also lift up those who feel so broken or lost that they cannot find the words to pray for themselves. For those whose spirits are overwhelmed by sickness and despair, we ask that Your Holy Spirit prayers here to intercede on their behalf. Wrap them in Your loving embrace. Let them feel Your presence and know they are not forgotten.
